I'm in a wide open space,I'm standing
I'm all alone and staring into space
That's from a 1996 song I particularly like by Mansun. Now whilst the song won't have the same appeal to all the cachers out there I expect a few of you will appreciate the beauty of a real wide open space.
Another area of moorland where there's not much that would actually bring you here but stand still in this wide open space and look around, you can see miles and miles of Dartmoor, on a good day! If you come from Wide Open Space cache number 1 you will have walked approximately three miles to get here.
The ground in this area is generally quite wet so walking shoes required, along with appropriate hats, coats etc., in case a good day turns bad.
The cache is a small clip and lock box, the log is inside a plastic bag which is inside a film pot for extra protection from the elements. No swaps, but maybe enough room for the odd geocoin/TB. When I placed the cache I was at first disappointed to find an upsidedown pillpot sticking out of my chosen hidey hole. Oh well I thought, I'll get the letterbox stamp instead. After much wrestling to get the pot out it turned out to be empty and had no lid on it which had created a vaccum with the peat.
The cache has been placed in accordance with the DNPA guidelines.
