Geocache Description:

On July 29, 1968, Sally Brown tosses her older brother's beachball into the ocean and tells him, "Your beach ball just left for Hawaii.." Charlie Brown is not pleased.

Fortunately, a kind fellow is out swimming when the ball comes floating by, and returns it to Charlie. That kind fellow is Franklin. Charlie and Franklin become quick friends. As they work together on a sand castle, they exchange details about each other's lives and families. Charlie invites Franklin over to spend the night sometime. Meanwhile, Sally throws Charlie's ball back at Hawaii.

We now jump ahead to mid October, 1968, when Franklin strolls over to Charlie Brown's neighborhood to say hello. He first meets Lucy (attending her Psychiatric Help booth), then Snoopy (aboard his Sopwith Camel), and then Linus (who shares a few words about the Great Pumpkin). It is at this point when Franklin turns around and starts heading home.

He tells Charlie Brown, "This neighborhood has me shook."

Schroeder then catches up with them,

"Did you guys know there are only sixty more days until Beethoven's birthday?"

Franklin's reply is the title of this, the 41st cache in our Peanuts series.

Franklin, who went to Peppermint Patty's school across town, remained as a semi-regular character in Peanuts right up to the final year.

The cache is a small lock & lock. Please replace him in the same manner in which you find him! Remember to take your pen or pencil with you. Franklin and his neighbors are there to encourage you as you pant and climb. The first part of this hilly hike is quite steep. Take it very easy. It gets easier--a little--by the time you've reached Franklin.
