This is the Cache For Kerry - CFK (not KFC).
It's near KFC and it's a pun* I've wanted to make for quite a long time, to repay her for all her hard work... !!!
Kerry loves banyan trees and busy places. This cache fulfils both requirements... It's in a banyan tree located in a fairly high muggle area with the added bonus of KFC patrons watching over the CFK.
Now there are at least two big problems with banyan trees: there's no shortage of hiding spots... and as a bonus, it's always hard to get an accurate GPS location. As well, they tend to attract slithery things (though I've never actually seen one in a banyan tree) and lots of junk.
I have tried very hard to get a good lock on the position using a GPS (not an I-phone or similar) and it looks pretty good to me, anyway.
The container has room for a log, a pencil and some small items.
*A pun is defined by Webster on-line as "the humorous use of a word, or of words which are formed or sounded alike but have different meanings, in such a way as to play on two or more of the possible applications; a play on words."
The Oxford English Dictionary (11th Edn) defines pun as "a joke exploiting the different meanings of a word or the fact that there are words of the same sound and different meanings".
Why do people groan when a pun is told?
A pun is often considered obvious humor, since the person relating it is merely balancing the humor in it on a twist of a word's meaning or sound. Children love this type of obvious humor and can laugh at it without reproachments.
Adults, on the other hand, are more likely to have a twinge of envy, and "why didn't I think of that?". It is this envy in adults that subconciously causes them to groan upon hearing a pun. As time goes on, it can only be hoped that we adults will eventually learn to react more like a child and less like a groan-up!
There - that wasn't very punny at all, was it? I wonder what a pun on initials/letters is called?
ADDITIONAL CHALLENGE:
Puns in the logs will earn bonus points. At my discretion, the best puns MAY earn the logger a "fave" point from me on a cache of theirs.
