Nature Park Letterbox - Owl Letterbox Hybrid

This cache has been archived.

dkestrel: Fall is passing away and it is time for these caches to go into hibernation for a while. Look for new ones with new educational content as the seasons progress. Thanks to all who hunted these and to THPRD for letting us have one more way to enjoy this fabulous park!

Geocache Description:

These letterboxes feature wildlife and plants that live and grow in the Nature Park. If you are new to the Nature Park you may need a park map (available in the Interpretive Center or at any park entrance). The clues take you along the loop route counter-clockwise, but you can go clockwise for a challenge. All of the letterboxes are located within one or two steps of the trail. Remember to replace the letterboxes as you found them with lids tight and all contents within the plastic bags provided.

Great Horned Owl

My name comes from tufts of feathers that appear to be "horns" which are sometimes referred to as "ear tufts" but have nothing to do with hearing at all. I have been seen nesting in this - the "North Woods" section of the park. The cache is on the north side of the trail just two paces past where the clump of grass-like sedges meets the trail.under a downed Douglas Fir bough.
