Located in the Montour Woods Conservation Area - a part of the Hollow Oak Land Trust (www.hollowoak.org) - this area was acquired through two parcels in 2005 and 2009. It extends over 96 acres from Meeks Run Conservation area along Montour Run to the Frank A. Santucci Conservation Area. Recent trail improvements make this an awesome place to hike! Beware of ticks - they are bad here! Sign says 'hunting by special permission".Wear orange during hunting season!
Cache is a camo'd peanut putter jar with tradables and a first to find prize. Parking is available at the posted parking coords off Hassam Road. You'll have a small stream crossing and some muddy bogs - so be especially careful during high water and icy conditions!! The last 50 feet is a steep uphill. Add a terrain star in muddy or snowy conditions! 2014 UPDATE! New improvements in the area have expanded the parking and made the trails more defined! Sign posts are placed at most trail intersections. This cache is accessed from the Meeks Run Trail. Trail Map available at the Hollow Oak Website. I love this place!
