Geocache Description:

The cache is placed outside The Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum and can be accessed at any time. We highly recommend checking out the museum and climbing the monument after you sign the log!
Placed with permission of the executive director of the Pilgrim Monument and Museum.

The Pilgrim Monument is the first thing you see when arriving in Provincetown. It was built in the early 1900s to commemorate the history of the Mayflower Pilgrims’ first landing in Provincetown. It is 252 feet tall, the tallest all-granite structure in the United States. The walk to the top consists of 116 steps and 60 ramps and takes about 10 minutes. Once at the top, the view is long reaching and beautiful. The museum hosts many interesting exhibits highlighting the arrival of the Pilgrims, Provincetown’s rich maritime history, the building of the monument, and much more.
Congrats to Kayak Kouple for FTF!
