This cache has been archived.

Bayes Rule: After spending too much time trying to find a way to rebuild this cache, it has become clear that the task is beyond me. I regret that the days of this strange creature are over.

Geocache Description:

A cache in the gameland, close to a major road. Contains log only - bring your own writing equipment. Please replace the cache as you found it.

Since the sad demise of Maingray's Bookcrossing Betwixt the Blues, I have been intrigued by this area. What happened to Bookcrossing? What savage monsters lurk in these swamps? What is that thing over there, and why does it seem to swallow everything within reach?

The cache is on gameland, so take precautions during hunting season (generally November through December). Search on Sundays or wear blaze orange at this time. In warm weather you are the one who will be hunted, so use bug spray. Although extensive bushwhacking is not required, thorns may impede your progress in any season.

Access is via a service road that can be reached from Route 54 westbound. If driving east, turn left on Huntingridge Road. Park in or near the Waterfowl Impoundment parking area.

There are several other caches nearby. Also, the Waterfowl Impoundment is a great place for bird watching (see this summary).

I may have underestimated the difficulty of this one. I raised it a notch. Congrats to jmchavez for the pre-dawn FTF.
