This cache is hidden a few meters below the summit of the Puig Galileu (1195 m), the small brother of Puig de Massanella with a fantastic view. But how to get there, it is up to you. YOU HAVE THE CHOICE !!!
1st option, the short one:
leave your car at P1, go uphill, cross the gate with different frightening signs (it is ok, you can pass it) and after a few hundred meters you are on the GR221, the official long distance trail. Now it is easy, apart from the ascent
. After reaching the cache you go down the same way.
2nd option, the long one:
you are doing a round tour starting somewhere around Lluc. P2 and P3 are also free or you leave your car down at the Santuari which costs ~ 4 Euro out of low season. I uploaded my recorded GPS-track at DROPBOX , it is only a suggestion. This varied tour offers beautiful views, a 17 km hike with 1000 m ascent. Remark: if you are hiking this tour clockwise, you have to pay a toll of ~ 4 Euro at the Finca Coma Freda. Counter clockwise, in the late afternoon or during low season it is free or try to pass the man in the box with a smile
Due to the total distance and ascent this option could be rated T4. This one we did and it was great.
3rd option, the very long one:
if you are anyway on a GR221 trekking tour between Refugi Tossals Verds and Refugi Son Amer (Lluc) you are passing this one. It costs you only 20 minutes one way
4th option, the professional one:
if you are on top of the Puig de Massanella … forget it!
There is a path, but only recommended for professional climbers.
So, you have the choice! Parking here or there, short, long, very long, clockwise oder counter clockwise, free of charge or with a fee, breakfast in the morning and/or diner in the afternoon, taking the bus, the rental car or continuing by foot …
I hope you enjoy this hiking tour as I did.
