Geocache Description:

The Vrynwy Giant is a Douglas Fir over 120 years old which measured 209 feet in May 2009 or 63.79m which was the joint tallest tree in the uk with Stronardon Douglas in Scotland. This tree has been sculpted into a hand Which is clearly visible across the lake. This cache has been placed with the kind permission of the RSPB.

Please note that Mobile Phone coverage is very poor in this area so you are advised to download the required information prior to your visit to allow for access when offline.      

 From the car park cross the road and proceed along the trail through the tall giants , please take care with young children as the trail goes along side  the road. This path is also suitable for wheelchair users. Follow the trail up to the viewing area where the sculpture can be seen. The cache can be found by a wheelchair user.

Please note due to the nature of the work undertaken by the RSPB and the Forestry commission it may at times become necessary to temporarily disable this cache and we ask that you respect our decision to do this.
