Geocache Description:

This is a short multicache which takes less than hour to complete. The clues are all within the park and the cache outside. There are some paths to follow but to find the answers to some of the clues you will need to cross rough grass.

"From 1942, Bushy Park became the site of a large U.S. base called Camp Griffiss, headquarters to a number of the Allied departments. General Dwight Eisenhower was averse to working in the centre of London during the Second World War. He decided instead to make Bushy Park the Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force (SHAEF) centre for planning Operation Overlord, the 1944 D-Day."
(The Royal Parks website). Today there is still some evidence of their presence within the park.
Parking is available in two car parks in within the park.
The vehicle entrance for the park closes at 19.00 in winter and later in summer. The cache is a magnetic key safe. When you have the answers the co-ordinates of the cache are N51 25.(a-4)(b-3)d W00 19.cd(e-3)
