Step One: I admit I am powerless over caching -- that my life would be completely unmanageable without it.
Who really wants to admit complete defeat? Practically no one, of course. It is truly awful to admit that, cache in hand, we have warped our minds into such a complete obsession that only an act of Providence can remove it from us. Caching, forevermore the rapacious creditor, bleeds us of all self-suficiency and we resist to its demands. "Just one more...." becomes our mantra, and we become one with our GPS. We recognize that our time and our wills have become entangled together, and that we are now victims of an obsession so subtly powerfull that no amount of human will power can break it. Once this stark fact is accepted, we soon take quite another view of this absolute humiliation. We perceive that only through utter defeat are we able to take our first steps towards liberation and strength. Our admission of personal powerless-ness finally turns out to be firm bedrock upon which happy and purposeful lives may be built.
