Linkuva Defence Line
[lt]Lobis vaizdingoje vietoje, prie VIII forto
Baigus Linkuvos įtvirtinimų statybas (1889), Kaunas buvo apjuostas įtvirtinimais iš visų pusių. VIII fortas tapo moderniausiu įtvirtinimu Kaune. Pastatytas naudojant betoną, su erdviais kazematais, apskaičiuotais 1000 žmonių įgulai, fortas buvo aprūpintas elektros energija, kanalizacija ir kitomis inžinerinėmis naujovėmis. Iš pradžių VIII fortas buvo vadinamas Linkuvos įtvirtinimu ir tik vėliau gavo forto vardą. [en] Cache is at nice panoramoc view place, on a VIII fort of Kaunas fortification. When Linkuva fort building finished (1889), Kaunas fortifications were surrounded from all sides. Fort VIII became art-building in Kaunas. Constructed using concrete with spacious casemates estimated 1,000 people in the crew of the fort was equipped with electricity, drainage and other engineering innovations. Originally VIII fort was called Linkuva consolidation and only then received the name of the fort.
