Geocache Description:

A great spot to view the salt plains in the area. If you are lucky you may also see a very long iron ore train go past.

Dampier Salt Limited (DSL) was formed in late 1967 to build the Dampier operation. The first shipment of salt of 19,000 tonnes left Dampier for Japan in April 1972. The operation now has a capacity of 4.2 million tones of salt per year.

At the end of 1978, DSL purchased the Lake MacLeod operation which has a current production capacity of 2.9 million tonnes per year of salt. In 1997, a gypsum mining and processing operation was constructed at Lake MacLeod with a capacity of 1.5 million tonnes per year.

You are looking for a small cache only large enough to contain a log and small pencil.
