Well done DragonAndFrogita - FTF after only 30 minutes from publish!!!

I often cycle through this village and think how nice it would be to live here!  I was amazed there's no caches nearby so thought it would be a good location to add one.

Founded in 1905, the "Surrey County Asylum"or "Netherne Asylum", was a psychiatric hospital built to alleviate overcrowding at the existing Brookwood Asylum near Woking.  Later named "Netherne Hospital", it housed around 2000 patients at it's peak. After closing in 1994, the hospital stood derelict pending planning permission for most of the 1990s.  Unlike the neighbouring Cane Hill Hospital which was pretty much left to rot, development of the site began c.2003 and a number of original buildings including the administration block, recreation hall and water tower remain and have been converted to flats and apartments.  The original chapel has been converted into a swimming pool, and can be seen from the GZ.
