Below you will find coordinates to mid-field of Bryant-Denny Stadium which is your starting point. You cannot go to this location unless you have been offered a scholarship or your band is worth a million dollars. The coordinates are merely a reference point. The coordinates to the final location is listed above. The container is a matchstick safe; so, bring your own writing instrument.
Crimson Tide Challenge
The challenge:
With a starting point at Bryant-Denny Stadium, find a cache for each letter of “Alabama Crimson Tide” beginning with the first letter A, in “Alabama”, and working your way through the E, in “Tide”. That’s 18 total caches and must be completed in the order spelling (Alabama Crimson Tide). Sounds easy, here is the twist. Each new cache you find will have to be further away from the stadium than the last one you found or the cache doesn’t count. The mileage from the stadium will be verified for each cache. Example: you find a cache starting with an “A” and its located 1.5 miles away from Bryant-Denny Stadium. Then your next cache needs to start with an “L” and be further then 1.5 miles. You’re next cache can’t ever go back on distance. So choose your caches wisely! We’ve checked the active caches in Tuscaloosa and the entire challenge can be accomplished within 15 miles of the stadium. Geocacher’s that have found all caches in the Tuscaloosa area can still complete the challenge. All previously found caches count excluding Events, Mega Events, and CITO’s. The caches do not have to originate in Tuscaloosa, however, all previously mentioned rules still apply. Any log made without the required submittal being confirmed are subject to removal. The actual cache D/T is 1/1, however, the difficulty is high due to the many possibilities obtaining the required 18 caches.
To complete this challenge
1. Email me a GSAK gpx file or create a public bookmark titled (Crimson Tide Challenge) with all 18 caches.
- Include this cache in your bookmark; since you haven’t found it yet.
- Keep this bookmark public for a minimum of 3 months after completing the challenge
- Include one cache you have found for each letter of Alabama Crimson Tide.
- In the bookmark cache comments, include the date you found the cache and the mileage from stadium.
- IF YOU ARE NOT A PREMIUM MEMBER: That's fine! Just keep track, and email me your info for all 18 when you've completed!
The required bookmark list must be provided to me prior to logging a find for verification. Any Found It logs that do not meet this requirement will be deleted and the find voided.
2. Successfully find and log a cache (no events) beginning with each letter of the Alabama Crimson Tide. The letter must be the first letter of the cache name (any cache name that begins with a symbol is NOT allowed). A look at your bookmark list or posted note will indicate whether or not you have each letter
3. Once you complete your list, post a note to this cache page for final approval. Non Premium Members e-mail me your detailed list. Please don’t post your entire list as a note. Once verified, you may find and log the final.
