Tucked away from the main sections of the Arabia Mountain landscape, this area offers a quieter experience where the forest begins to close in and the sounds of the South River take over.

This geocache is located on a tract of land purchased by DeKalb County over a decade ago. Although it is separated from the main portion of Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve, it still falls within the boundary of the greater Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area.

This tract features a mature hardwood forest and sits along a scenic stretch of the South River, where a series of shoals add movement and texture to the landscape.

Parking is available off Klondike Road near the South River bridge. From there, a woods road extends into the property and is intended for foot traffic only.

A short nature trail, located closer to the river and the shoals, branches off from this woods road at a wider clearing near a sewer line manhole. It reconnects to the main path near a power line right-of-way, creating a short loop through this section of forest.

The site is managed by Rockdale County Greenspace, helping preserve this area for both wildlife and public enjoyment.
