Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a nationwide geocaching series called "Cache to Eagle" that showcases these special contributions. This particular project was completed by Troop 1 scout, Casey Reilley who fabricated and erected the sign for this local school.

Reaching the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America requires years of dedication and hard work. In addition to 21 required merit badges, each Scout must complete a project that — on average — requires 167 service hours.  Eagle Projects are service projects that are helpful to the community. The projects help develop leadership skills for the scout. There is a lot of planning and organizing the scout must complete in order to finish a project. The project itself is the final stage of all the work and planning leading up to the final result.

This is the first Cache to Eagle for this troop. Many more will be added soon.

This school is also the site of two other Eagle projects.

One is a decomposed granite path and plantings planned and executed by Troop 1 scout Loren McIntyre.  It is located at:  38°31'6.74"N  121°25'55.57"W.
The other is a set of four planter boxes and an irrigation system planned and executed by Troop 1 scout Ian Hause.  It is located at:  38°31'4.37"N  121°25'56.42"W

Note: As these two projects are on school grounds, you will need permission to visit these sites.  Please contact Troop 1 for more information about these Eagle projects at communications@troop-1.com.
