Hiking Trial Series
This is a small lake north of Vian, Ok. This hiking trail is a cooperative effort between the Vian community and Oklahoma Tourism. Here you will find a really nice well kept park. There is picnic areas,walking trails, restrooms, boat dock, and fishing dyke for you to enjoy.
Here you will also find a well paved hiking trail that circles the lake. There are benchs and picnic tables along the trail. Also markers that show the different types of trees and vegetation. Pets and bicycles are both allowed on the trails.
There is also a swinging bridge for you to enjoy. The bridge is a waymark if you want to take your picture there and log it.
I do not know what the hours are for the park. I could not find it posted anywhere but there is a gate that can be closed and locked.
This is the 1st of 5 caches that I placed along the hiking trail. They will not be hard but I think you will enjoy seeing this area and hiking along the trail. PLEASE REPLACE THE CACHES BACK OUT OF SIGHT OF MUGGLES. That way maybe they will stay for lots of cachers to enjoy.
As with any outdoor caches please be aware of ticks, chiggers,poisonous plants, and of course snakes.This area looks like home to some rattlers.
I rated the terrian on this cache a 5 because if you are over 50, overweight, or not use to hiking, it might be a bit of a climb for you. A couple of places it is real steepe so be sure and watch your foot. But the view of the lake is great from this spot. I hope you enjoy these caches and thanks for playing the game.
