Ballroom is a small Tasmanian town on the Blessington Rd as you travel towards Ben Lomond.
Blink and youi'll miss it is certainly true of this place. In fact Ballroom is so small that it neither features on Google Maps or has any internet reference to it. Being such an unusual name we thought that there would be something listed somewhere online - but alas not that we could find.
What the region is known for though is the fishing spots near the town and along the North Esk River. You may have noticed the numerous stiles giving fishermen access to the river in this area. This is one such spot where you might catch a trout (licenced of course), and we watched a large one being reeled in quite nearby. It is also a nice spot to sit and watch the water flow by.
Please don't wear your best ballroom shoes to this one. The grass can get quite wet and 'satched' shoes are no fun.
Access to the cache area can be gained by climbing the nearby stile. The cache is a regular sized black camo 1L plastic screwtop container with logbook, pencil and small swaps.
