Geocache Description:

This is a small camouflaged container with a trackable for the first to find. The cache is one of a series around Buntingford, Puckeridge and Standon, the Buntingford series will eventually make a circular walk.

Buntingford is the smallest town in Hertfordshire and dates back to 1185. the original settlement was in the parish of Layston near the church of St Bartholomew which was built in the 13th century. The church is currently(November 2012) being converted into a dwelling. Over the centuries the settlement of Buntingford has moved down the valley to its present location.

There are many footpaths and bridleways on the eastern side of Buntingford and most are well used, so watch out for mugglers. The paths do tend to get muddy after rainfull so come prepared with wellingtons or walking boots.
