Geocache Description:

THIS FURNACE WAS BUILT IN 1833 AND OPERATED UNTIL 1875 THEN CLOSED AD REOPENED IN 1880 TO 1881 THEN FINALLY CLOSED. THERE WAS A GOOD CIVIL WAR SKIRMASH HERE IN. THE STONEBUILDING ACROSS THE ROAD WAS THE STORE. THE OLD SCHOOL COLLAPSED 2 WINTERS AGO . THE HOUSE DOWN CLOSE BY 127 IS WHERE MY MOTHER WAS BORN AND RAISED.
