En memoria de todas las guerras…
En Mayagüez, se celebró junto con combatientes de distintos conflictos bélicos, la inauguración de una impresionante escultura de 15 pies de alto en una plaza que fue dedicada como monumento al soldado mayagüezano. Es un testimonio de los innumerables soldados caídos en los diferentes conflictos bélicos, en un intento para honrar a quienes ofrecieron su vida por un sistema democrático y por las libertades que todos disfrutamos.
La figura se alza sobre una base de bronce de 13 pies de alto, en forma del mapa de Puerto Rico. Está enclavada en una plazoleta con iluminación y bancos a la vuelta redonda.
Al monumento lo completan seis placas de alto relieve con diseños y textos alusivos a los diferentes conflictos bélicos, ocho luminarias y tres astas para las banderas oficiales de Puerto Rico, Estados Unidos y una blanca que significa el pedido de paz mundial.
El Cache es un bison.
In Mayaguez, held together with fighters from different wars, the opening of an impressive sculpture 15 feet high in a place that was dedicated as a monument to the Soldiers of Mayagüez. It is a testament to the many fallen soldiers in different wars in an attempt to honor those who gave their lives for a democratic system and for the freedoms we all enjoy.
The figure stands on a bronze base 13 feet high, on a map of Puerto Rico. It is located in a small square with lighting and benches around round.
The monument is completed by six plates embossed with designs and texts alluding to the different wars, eight lights and three poles for banners official Puerto Rico, United States and a white which means the order of world peace.
