Geocache Description:

En cache i anledning af genopførelse af Gammelby Bybrønd.
A cache tributing the reconstructing of Gammelby village well

Brønden er muret op i den sidste uge i august 2012, omkranset af 7 siddesten og med pigstensbelægning omkring.
Cachen er udlagt på foranledning af de overforboende i nr. 27. Vink endelig, hvis I ser dem.

The well is made in the last week of august 2012, surrounded by 7 stones and cobblestones.

The cache is made at the request of the opposite residents in no. 27. Wave by all means, if you see them.

The age of the village well is unknown, but it is probably several hundred years old. It is known, that the local bus driver used water from the well to wash the bus after World War II. The well was later covered and rediscovered in 2007. Gammelby is the oldest village around, first mentioned in a document from 1352.
