This will be a laid back covered dish affair. Plan on eating at 4 pm. No rushing here and there to find caches. You can do that prior to the event. We will have a bonfire as long as it is not too hot. All the usual tall-tale-telling, swaping TB/GC's and sharing hints and ideas for caches. This event is on private property owned by a good friend of mine who has been gratious enough to allow me to hold this and a few other events at this location. It is NOT open to the general public.
The original move released in 1957 starred Glenn Ford, Van Heflin, Felicia Farr, Leora Dana. It was remade and released in 2007 starring Russell Crowe, Christian Bale, Ben Foster, Logan Lerman.
Miniature train rides will be available. Plenty of picnic tables on site, covered pavillion, electricity, water, and my world class outhouse has been set up for all to view and admire, using it is optional. DUE TO PAST PROBLEMS, WE CAN NO LONGER ALLOW DOGS OR UNRULY KIDS. Bring a dish to share and your choice of beverages with extas for others would be nice. Not a lot of chairs to sit on around the fire. I suggest you might want to bring your own, just in case. A video of past operations will be running.
Plenty of caches in the area to satisfy almost everyone. One of the oldest is in Ocklawaha, called Barker's Bungalow GC5DA1, 5/27/02. The original house had reinactments of the shootout until declining attendance cause it to be halted. The property is private and no visitors are allowed. You can see it just a short distance west of the cache location, look south as you pass 81 56.022 and you will see a 2 story white house. It was directly across the street from the original cache but I was asked to move it a little farther away. If you let me know what you are bringing, I will post it in the hint section so we don't have too much dessert. (Meg said "What's wrong with that, as long as it is chocolate?") I will supply plates, utensils, cups, hotdogs, buns and condiments. Raffle donations gladly accepted. Put your name on them. I tend to get busy and forget who brought what.
