North To Nelson!
The Great Northern Rail Trail extends from Salmo, past Nelson, and on to Troup, following the former Burlington Santa Fe rail bed. The rail bed is level (more or less), but some portions of it are better traveled than others, so the ground varies from groomed gravel to overgrown weeds. It is a great trail for walking or cycling, and in the winter, X-country skiing or snowshoeing.
As I approached this big, beautiful Christmas tree, my mean streak caused me to wonder "camo'd micro? Black bison tube? Nano? Hmmmm". In the end, I decided not to make this the kind of cache I DNF on, more often than not, and should be all-season.
