North To Nelson!
The Great Northern Rail Trail extends from Salmo, past Nelson, and on to Troup, following the former Burlington Santa Fe rail bed. The rail bed is level (more or less), but some portions of it are better traveled than others, so the ground varies from groomed gravel to overgrown weeds. It is a great trail for walking or cycling, and in the winter, X-country skiing or snowshoeing.
If you look closely, you will find a trail from the railtrail that leads you to a pretty point overlooking (I think) Clearwater Creek. The cache is about 20m off the railtrail "as the crow flies", or maybe 30m "as the cacher hikes".
