North To Nelson!
The Great Northern Rail Trail extends from Salmo, past Nelson, and on to Troup, following the former Burlington Santa Fe rail bed. The rail bed is level (more or less), but some portions of it are better traveled than others, so the ground varies from groomed gravel to overgrown weeds. It is a great trail for walking or cycling, and in the winter, X-country skiing or snowshoeing.
Wear gloves. The tree this one is hanging in is prickly. Originally, I wanted to call this all-season cache "This is going to hurt me more than it hurts you" because I wasn't wearing gloves when I placed it, but that seemed too long.
