Named in honour one of the 20th century's finest songsmiths. I hope to establish similarly named caches in the future.
Two ways of approaching this cache. One is from Pear Tree Lane (there is a pull-in just up the hill). The other is across the field from the south.Once you've found it turn around and watch German Brook as it meanders towards the coast. Nearby Washington Lane used to be called German Lane. However, during the war the site that is now Washington Hall Fire Station was used by American forces. They changed the name which is a shame because its origins lie with an old Chorley family and not the nation.
