Plantation
There used to be dozens of caches around here but most have now gone so I thought I'd put in three to add to the Limy Way caches. Parking is in the small lay-by near Burnley Golf Club on Crown Point Road. Take the path south-east down through the plantation and you will soon reach the cache area.
Here your problems start as you follow your gps for 40m from the path to the concealed remains of a tractor possibly surrounded by boggy reeds. Head a little to the left of the point or you might stumble over it and hurt yourself - go past to approach from the rear. There are now several little cachers tracks leading to it.
I was having difficulty finding anywhere to lay a cache when I stumbled on this with a nesting hole just fitting the cache box and plenty of covering material - although I can't see anyone but mad cachers coming here! By 2014 the nesting hole has rotted away but its still above the wet ground and as per the clue.
Only a short way from the road I've given it quite a high terrain rating because of this. Have fun! Please ensure you return the cache and its cover exactly as you find it to help keep it dry and stop it from blowing away.
