PLAZA DE SANTA RITA
Muy cerca de la plaza de España se encuentra esta céntrica plaza, en ella confluyen las calles, Vázquez Varela, Couto de San Honorato, Filipinas y Puerto Rico, los edificios a destacar tanto en la plaza como en sus cercanías son la iglesia se Santa Rita, el Hospital Xeral y el Colegio San Roque, pero es en una puerta donde nos vamos a centrar.
PUERTA DEL PAZO DE SAN HONORATO
Muy poca información nos ha llegado de esta puerta que se encuentra enfrente de la iglesia según el catálogo del ayuntamiento de Vigo: puerta monumental construída en el año 1780, del desaparecido pazo de San Honorato, de la familia Martinez Piñeiro, que se levantaba al lado de la desaparecida capilla de San Honorato, construída en ese lugar en el año 1720 y fundada por el entonces alcalde Miguel de Montes y Castro, siendo al final propiedad de dicho pazo
IGLESIA DE SANTA RITA
En la Exposición de Arte Sacro inaugurada en el Salón Noble del Círculo Mercantil el 14 de marzo de 1961, se dio a conocer la maqueta "de la que será la nueva iglesia de San José Obrero en la zona de Santa Rita". Sus líneas arquitectónicas llamaron poderosamente la atención del público "por romper con lo hasta ahora acostumbrado en este género de construcción en la ciudad".
El nuevo templo proyectado por el arquitecto Fernando Araujo Rodríguez muestra un armazón formado por arcos de hormigón de forma peraltada, entrelazados y que van disminuyendo en anchura a medida que se acercan al altar, donde cambia la estructura en una serie de pies derechos resolviéndose en una superficie elíptica". El frente del templo se resuelve "con una gran celosía de cerámica con la imagen de San José Obrero en granito, realizada por el escultor Xoan Piñeiro".
En el proyecto se incluían además de las entradas resueltas con paneles de aluminio, un baptisterio y una capilla para la continuación del culto a Santa Rita, confesionarios y sacristía "y exento a todo el conjunto arquitectónico, un campanil de 37 metros de altura".
El presupuesto de la obra se fijó en cinco millones de pesetas y el nuevo templo venía a sustituir a la capilla de Santa Rita y algunos terrenos circundantes de Vázquez Varela, anexos al actual Hospital Xeral.
La primera piedra fue colocada en un solemne acto presidido por el entonces Obispo de la Diócesis, Fray José López Ortiz, y fue necesario pedir ayuda económica a los fieles para hacer frente a la construcción del templo.
Donde hoy se encuentra la iglesia se levantaba la capilla dedicada a San Honorato y llamada también de Santa Rita por los festejos en honor de esa santa que en ella se celebraban. Fue erigida con la aportación de la familia Montes Piñeiro.
EL CACHE
Situado en plena plaza, es un contenedor de tamaño nano, conteniendo solamente el logbook, NO TIENE MATERIAL DE ESCRITURA, la zona es muy transitada tanto por vehículos como por peatones, no hace falta sacar ninguna piedra, se ve a simple vista. DOOR OF PAZO SAN HONORATO

CHURCH OF SANTA RITA
The Sacred Art Exhibition opened in the Noble Room of the Commercial Circle March 14, 1961, was released the demo "of what will be the new church of St. Joseph the Worker in the Santa Rita". Its architectural lines powerfully called public attention "to break with the hitherto used in this type of construction in the city."
The new church designed by architect Fernando Araujo Rodriguez shows a frame formed by concrete arches so stilted, intertwined and that decrease in width as they approach the altar, where the structure changes in a series of uprights resolved in a elliptical surface. "front of the temple is solved" with a large ceramic lattice with the image of St. Joseph the Worker in granite, sculpted by Piñeiro Xoan ".
The project also included the tickets resolved with aluminum panels, a baptistery and a chapel for the continuation of the cult of Santa Rita, confessionals and sacristy "and exempt the entire architectural ensemble, a bell tower of 37 meters high."
The budget for the project is five million pesetas and the new church came to replace the chapel of Santa Rita and some surrounding land Vázquez Varela, annexes to the current Xeral Hospital.
The first stone was laid in a grand ceremony chaired by the then Bishop of the Diocese, Fray José López Ortiz, and financial aid was necessary to ask the faithful to deal with the construction of the temple.
Where today is the church stood the chapel dedicated to St. Honore and Santa Rita also called for the festivities in honor of the saint who is celebrating it. It was built with the contribution from the family Montes Piñeiro.
THE CACHE
Located on the square, is a nano-sized container, containing only the logbook, NOT writing material, the area is well-traveled by both cars and pedestrians, not necessary to remove any stones, looks at first glance.
