The new Five Arches Greenway provides a great traffic free route to get between the towns of Radstock and Midsomer Norton, overcoming the hilly terrain around the Radstock area which currently makes walking and cycling difficult. The Five Arches Greenway and Portrait Bench was officially opened in September 2011 with a celebration day and special guests with Michael Eavis of Glastonbury Festival and Cllr Rob Appleyard. The route passes along a disused railway path and enables these two communities to get to the town centre, shops, leisure and school facilities including the new skate park at Gullock Tyning nearby, on foot and by bike, avoiding the existing busy roads in the local area.
