Geocache Description:

"We are no longer the Twinkies. We're the World Champion Minnesota Twins." - Steve Lombardozzi

"You never know. What you have today can be gone tomorrow. There are no guarantees in life." - Kirby Puckett

The cache >is< at the above coordinates. But of course as this is a puzzle cache, it won’t be that easy.  The cache location has plenty of parking and there may be high muggle traffic at the park. Please bring your own pen. There is an unactivated geocoin for the FTF.

I lived in South Dakota and Minnesota, and grew up a Minnesota Twins fan.  One of the greatest sports moments for me was the Twins winning the World Series in 1987.  It was 7 games of greatness versus the St. Louis Cardinals, and it lead to the Twins winning their first (but not only) World Series Championship.  So I have devised a simple puzzle where you can figure out some needed numbers to gain access.  CO Note: Please be sure your calendar is set to 1987. Some of the players' jerseys changed and may cause you to have an incorrect solution.

·         (Jaun Berenger minus Bert Blyleven) plus (Manager Tom Kelly plus Tom Nieto) = _____
·         (Greg Gagne plus Gene Larkin) minus Gary Gaetti = _____
·         (Kent Hrbek plus Frank “Sweet Music” Viola plus Tom Brunansky plus Dan Gladden plus Kiiiiiiiiirrrrrby Puckett) divided by Steve Lombardozzi = _____

I received a note that a Certitude option would help with confusion regarding possible solutions for this puzzle. If using Certitude, please enter the answer in a XX-X-XX format for the solution.

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
THANKS TO THE TWINS
Well, the season is over and winter draws near,
And it’s time to say thanks for a wonderful year.
To the Twins who say, "Hey, we’re just regular guys,"
You’ve done more for the fans than you may realize.

There were people whose lives were devoid of all hope,
You rekindled the flame and you helped them to cope.
You breathed life into people who needed a lift,
And you touched all our hearts, and that’s quite a gift.

And thanks to you, Herbie, our own hometown boy,
We don’t live in Mudville, and we have known joy.
In a slump and playing hurt, but by force of sheer will,
You unleashed your bat and you made time stand still.

And at the last game, I yelled and I prayed,
And I lost all control when the last out was made.
With thousands of others, I jumped from my seat,
We poured out of the Dome and into the street.

We roared our approval, our victory cry,
I clenched both my fists and punched holes in the sky.
The noise hurt my ears but I wanted to hear it,
Each shout was sweet music - a triumph of spirit.

And triumph you did, through hard work and ambition,
With passion and pride, you completed your mission.
You’ve earned every medal that’s pinned to your chest,
You held nothing back and you’ve given your best.

The odds were against you right down to the wire,
But destiny called and your eyes were on fire.
You gave even more than you knew you could give,
And I’ll cherish it all for as long as I live.
