Welcome to Shopping Spree 2! Those geocachers who completed the original Shopping Spree by Madhatt3R1 might recognize the coordinates of Stage 1, as the starting point for Shopping Spree 2 is the same as that now-archived cache. Unfortunately, Stage 2 of the original Shopping Spree was muggled a long time ago and I think Madhatt3R1 is no longer involved in local geocaching, so the multi sat languishing until November 7, 2012, when it was archived.
But you can't keep a good cache down forever, or so the expression goes. Shopping Spree had been on my Favorites list and it was within walking distance of one of my three work locations so I'd check on it frequently. It's stood the test of time, and I thought it deserved to remain active, so I not only decided to resurrect it on the day it was archived, I also reused the Stage 1 coordinates and container and had rescued the final container for Stage 2 of this two-stage multi-cache.....
...until 2024. Alas, the "forest" where the final had been located has now become a "field with a few trees", and the host for the cache is gonegoneGONE. I have replaced the final at the nearest viable cache host. The coordinates for the original final are at Stage 1, but once you get those coordinates, add .004 to the north and subtract .008 from the west to get the location for the new host. Final is no longer a regular-size...it is now a small-sized tubular container.
So, welcome to Shopping Spree 2, and cache on!
