These woods were my playground as a kid. For the best experience, park near the visitor center and walk the trails to the cache.
Please note: Due to park regulations, this cache will be disabled seasonally from October to the beginning of December because of deer hunting.
Throughout middle school and high school my friends and I would spend hours in these woods. We would bike the deer trails, hike and talk, watch the wild life and try to track deer. One summer we hung out at a small "shack" that we built. In the winter we would cross country ski, build snowboarding jumps at the bottom of a big hill, or ice skate on a frozen pond. Occcasionally we would bike over to the Elm Creek park via the extensive county parks trail system.
When looking for this cache, try to take in your surroundings. Don't spend the whole time looking down at your GPS. Try to get lost on the trails like I would as a kid and realize how awesome nature can be.
Please observe the posted park hours of 6:00am to 30 minutes after sunset.
