Situated in a suburban street it seems an unusual position for the facility located there.

This is the largest of 3 water storage tanks in the area. The tank itself is fully enclosed by a high fence. It is not accessible to the public, however there is an area to park your car on the main road from which you can then access the small park area adjacent to the water tank.

The primary source of water for the Rockhampton area is the mighty Fitzroy river which runs straight through the middle of the City of Rockhampton.

The residents of Rockhampton use approximately 17,000 Mega Litres of water annually.

140 Mega Litres per day pass through the filtration process. There are 27 pumping stations and 690Km of water mains and pipes to service the population of just under 70,000 people.
