A Thankful Meet & Greet for Weary Travelers 3.0 Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

The Seanachai: Greetings from Geocaching.com,

As part of my duties, I am archiving this cache as it has been over 30 days since the event occurred. From the Geocaching.com listing guidelines regarding event caches:

"After the event has passed, the event cache should be archived by the organizer within four weeks."

Thank you for taking the time to create and host this event, but it is time for the listing to be archived.

Geocache Description:

6:30-8:30 PM
Wednesday, November 21st

My wife is a Fredericksburg native and we try to get to town a couple of time's a year to visit with her family, but we are always here for Thanksgiving. Since 2003, these visits have meant a week of sneaking off with her, my brother-in-law or just getting away by myself to cache in the area. Through geocaching I have discovered many great locations around town through the years and I feel that the local geocachers have really given me a great education on many of the hidden treasures Fredericksburg has to offer, from the parks to the trails to the awesome frozen custard. Although, we were lucky enough to meet some of you when we hosted GeoWoodstock VII a couple of year's ago and at this event last year, unfortunately, we have only met a few cachers locally. So this year, once we discovered that there were no other events planned, Scoot and I decided to put this event together in hopes that we could meet some local folks and offer our thanks in person, plus it gives us another opportunity to show off our littlest cacher.

Whether you are a long time cacher or have just started, a local or passing through on your way to visit your family for the holidays, we ask that you please come on down and join us for a meet and greet in historic Fredericksburg, just minutes off I-95 for you travelers. The kind folks at Starbucks Coffee on Route 3 have agreed to let us use their conference room to get together and tell some stories about geocaching, give away some door prizes and get to know each other a little better. We will kick things off around 6:30 and be there till at least 8:30 or so.

We look forward to getting to know you better, if there are any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. We would ask that you please RSVP via a "will attend" to the cache page, so we may let the folks at Starbucks know how many people to expect.
