Geocache Description:

Cache *IS* at the posted coordinates.

This is a challenge cache in that you must meet the challenge in order to claim a find.

The Challange: You must have logged a find in at least 53 connected counties.

This challenge is dedicated to our good caching friends bretina, from Michigan, who love challenge caches, and who love filling in their county maps.

About this Challenge:
Our friends "bretina" got us hooked on the "County Kick" a few years ago. They love finding a cache in every county they travel through and thus "drawing lines" across their national and state county maps.

Bretina's US County Map (7/20/13):

We thought it sounded cool too, as we already had a "line" on our map. Having driven from Grand Rapids, MI to Panama City Beach, FL many times over the last 15 years, we naturally found many caches along the way. When the first of the caching county maps came out, we thought it was pretty neat that you could "see" our route.
Here's our US County map (7/20/13):

So, us, having shared this discovery with them many moons ago, got them hooked on the "County Kick," supposedly first. So we got them addicted and they returned the favor. That's our story and we're sticking to it!

About the 53: As there are 53 counties between (and including) Grand Rapids, MI and Panama City Beach, FL, and it's a route we've traveled with them, that's the number this challenge requires!

Rule Clarifications:
- Counties are connected to each other when they share a border more than just a point.
- Counties can be connected in a string (or line), a cluster, or a combination as long as at least 53 counties are touching each other.
- As long as the counties legally touch each other, they count (large rivers and lakes don't prevent counties from touching.)
- Connections may cross state/national boundaries where applicable.
- We do allow pre-finds, (where you sign the logbook before completing the challenge) but you can't claim the smiley until the challenge has been met.
- This cache may count as a find in Johnson county.
- As it's been asked, if you've found all the 99 counties in Iowa, that would be 99 counties touching each other - well more than you need for this challenge.

To demonstrate you've met the challenge:
- We recommend using a GSAK macro (if you're familiar with those) and posting the picture to your log.
- You can also upload a "My Finds" pocket query to mygeocachingprofile.com which will generate you a US county map that you can attach to your log.
- You can also create a bookmark list of your GC#, State, and County name and attach it to this cache.
- If you have another way, contact us and we'll let you know if it's ok.

Please do not attempt this one from the on-ramp.

We hope you have fun!
Naturally, the FTF went to bretina.
