This traditional MML hide was specially crafted by the town for cachers to enjoy. It is stocked with a variety of items. The cache is placed in the area of the Spring House. Please enjoy the area but stay-away from the archeological dig site next to spring house! Please no night caching!!

You may park in grass at parking coordinates (N39 32.549 W077 06.653) in front of railroad tracks. The Town does offer a nice walking GPS tour and an Historical House GPS walking tour. There is a box posted on site with information, however, it is not part of the MML geocache.

Welcome to New Windsor. The town was founded in 1797 and incorporated in 1884. New Windsor was laid out by Isaac Atlee in the hopes of capitalizing on the through traffic along the Old Monocacy wagon road from Winchester, VA, to Philadelphia, PA. Atlee opened an inn and tavern on the corner of what is today Main and High Streets. Over time stagecoach and wagon roads were developed to connect Baltimore, Gettysburg, York, and again Philadelphia.

Today, New Windsor holds onto its history of the small town atmosphere, while welcoming new families as it moves into the 21st century, with the same charm and appeal as it did over two-hundred years ago.

The Town of New Windsor thanks you for visiting!
