Tesla quit working for Edison after failing to understand Edison's 'sense of humor'. Tesla resigned in disgust. He found himself digging ditches saying he preferred the manual labor . Tesla would share his ideas with any of the workers that would listen to him while on breaks. Word began to spread about this brilliant man who was digging ditches to stay alive.
