Update: Two people have reported that my original coordinates may be off. Try N 28 43.281 and W 82 34.474. Please let me know if these are more accurate and I will update my numbers.
We tried to find a place to put a cache at Homosassa Springs but could not find a good location. We did find this little area nearby.
Go a little south of Homosassa Springs on US 19. Take a right into Chassahowitzka (you might want to look this one up on the map before leaving on this hunt).
On the road going west towards Chassahowitzka, you will see a sign on the right for Spirit Springs (Update: sign has been removed). Take the dirt road about 1.6 miles to the site of the cache (keep your GPS on so you don't pass it). The no trespassing signs mean that you need to keep on the road as the land at the entrance belongs to others than the Spirit Springs people.
The cache should be covered with palm branches. It originally contained the following:
- Pinball game
- Compass
- Roll of money
- Measuring tape
- CD
