Geocache Description:

Coordinates take you to the parking area adjacent to the trailhead marker for the Turkey Trot Trail in Dan Daniel Memorial Park. Good hiking shoes recommended [or padding in case of slips/falls].

Cache is a ammo box under leaves. Coordinates of N36° 34.477', W079° 22.156' should get you plenty close to the final cache location.

The posted site coordinates are where you are expected to park (to help keep people from bushwhacking and ruining their clean clothes going line of site after this one).

Initial Contents: logbook, unsharpened pencil, calculator, bungee cord, toy hairbows, cute stuffed animal, 2 toy cars.

Update 1/3/2012 : After nearly 10 years, the Turkey Trot trail area has been experiencing some growing pains. It seems there are two outdoor recreation activities taking up space adjacent to the Turkey Trot trail. There is a challenge course if you take the trail to the left (if you start at the posted coordinates). There is a mountain bike connector trail in the works as well.

Stay to the right as you go past the kiosk up the trail. There is no need to go beyond the no trespassing signage. Danville Parks & Recreation is aware of the geocache location and just wants us to watch out for mountain bikers and people heading to the challenge course.

Special thanks to Spring1 for helping maintain the cache between my visits to the area.
