We placed this cache on a day we decided it would be good to go fishing at pykes.
We placed this cache on a day we decided it would be good to go fishing at pykes. The fish didn't bite, but the yak did it's job. They say fishing from the banks using worms is the way to go. We trawled most of the perimeter with a lure from the kayak, but no luck. The water was very choppy due to both a lot of wind, and also the most watercraft we have seen yet at this location to date, so it might be a good idea to come here when it is less busy and windy.
They say you may catch either brown trout or redfin here. Fisheries Vic are supposedly stocking 5000 brown trout a year here over the next 3 years, so that sounds like the chances of catching something should only improve.
