1888 - Tesla’s induction motor, in a nutshell, it allows electricity to be transmitted at further distances than the DC system. It then takes that electrical power and turns it into mechanical energy. For instance instead of manual labor used at a loom electric now powers the loom. This invention is listed as one of the 10 greatest inventions of all time.
