Founders Point Park resides on the east side of Chestermere Lake. In 2002, a cairn containing a time capsule was placed in the park. It will be opened in 2052.
The cairn also marks the history of the Town of Chestermere, which was originally incorporated as a Summer Village on April 1, 1977 and then as a town on March 1, 1993. Its location marks the proximity of the first lakeside structures built around 1916.
Every year, the Urban Beautification Committee plants trees in September or October to recognize those children born to families living within the Town of Chestermere. In 2005, Founders Point Park was that location.
This small park offers a pristine view of the north side of the lake and is a wonderful place to catch a sunset on those warm summer eves.
