[ENG] Pikasilla has always been the southern gate to the Lake Võrtsjärv and an important waterway. The Väike (i.e. small) Emajõgi River, which is 83.6 kilometres long, flows there and comprises the largest Lake Võrtsjärv inflow due to its catchment basin of 1273 square kilometres.
The riverside rest and recreation zone was constructed in 2006 and includes a proper wharf, auxiliary buildings, car park, stadium and drilled well.

[EST] Võrtsjärve lõunatipus Põdrala vallas asuv Pikasilla puhkeala on hästi ligipääsetav ning strateegiliselt hea asupaigaga veetee ääres (Väike-Emajõe suudmes) ning juba suhteliselt laialt tuntust kogunud spordiürituste ja erinevate avalike ürituste toimumiskohana. Alal on praegu juba olemas erinevad spordirajatised - kergejõustiku staadion, korvpallilauad, võrkpalliplats, kaugushüppekast, ning vabaõhulava koos pealtvaatajate pinkide ning külalisi teenindavate kahe puidust müügikioskiga. Seoses Võrtsjärve Väravate esimese arendusetapiga alustati puhkealal teenindushoone ning randumissildade ehitustöid, mis võimaldavad puhkeala ühendamist veetee võrgustikku ning järve tutvustava infokeskuse rajamist puhkelale.
