Click here to solve the puzzle interactively. None of the clues are cryptic and all of the answers are connected with Geocaching, although in a couple of cases somewhat tenuously. Once displayed, if you click on a square, the relevant clue will be highlighted and if you click on a clue, the boxes in the puzzle for the answer will be highlighted. If you click on a square that is in both a down and an across answer, the shaded squares will tell you which direction has been selected. Just click on the square again to change the direction.
The puzzle will not display if you have Java disabled, or not installed, and may not display if you are using an old browser or operating system. If so, click here to display a printable version, but sadly in rather poor resolution.
If all else fails, I've reproduced the puzzle below, but again in rather poor resolution
Once the puzzle has been completed, you can get the real coordinates which are
N55 4α.βγδ W003 5ε.ζηθ using letters in the puzzle solution, the convention A=0, B=1, C=2 etc and the code below.
Here's an aid
α = 4th letter in 7 down + 9th letter in 17 down - 3rd letter in 22 across
β = 2nd letter in 11 across - 3rd letter in 21 down - 3rd letter in 3 down
γ = 2nd letter in 6 across - 2nd letter in 19 down + 2nd letter in 29 down
δ = 3rd letter in 1 across + 1st letter in 2 across + 6th letter in 25 down
ε = 2nd letter in 20 across - 3rd letter in 35 across + 3rd letter in 33 across
ζ =4 th letter in 8 down + 4th letter in 28 across + 3rd letter in 9 across
η = 2nd letter in 26 across + 4th letter in 24 down - 6th letter in 1 down
θ = 3rd letter in 30 across + 8th letter in 10 down - 9th letter in 12 across
You can check your answer by clicking here. (Of course, Geochecker will only tell you if your answer is right or wrong. If you have the wrong answer and want to know which digit is incorrect, just email your answer to me via my profile page and I'll let you know.)
If there's been a lot of recent rain, you might like to take wellies or boots when seeking this cache.
