From the cache you will have views heading out over Wonford to the hills of Exwick, Exeter Cathedral and Heavitree Church.
It's a fantastic place to bring the dog for a run around, parking and access can be gained from Ludwell Lane, Parkland Drive, Pynes Hill or parking at Wonford supermarket.
Some land in the Park is privately owned and so access is only allowed into fields when a stile or kissgate is provided. There are plenty of hidden paths to join all the fields so enjoy your experience.
The valley is a real wildlife haven. Harvest mice nest in the fields, whitethroats and blackcaps skulk in the hedgerows and orange-tip and painted lady butterflies feed on the wild flowers.
During the summer months some of the fields are aloud to grow and create natural habitats for the wildlife and wild flowers, winter months brings the mud, especially in the more well trodden areas where cattle have been, I would advise good walking shoes and be prepared to get them muddy, you have been warned!
Cattle graze these fields April to October.
This link shows you how the area is divided and the size of which it is, there’s more than you expect.
