Geocache Description:

Locate three satellites. Each of the satellites is represented by a numbered micro-cache (magnetized ... hint, hint). Each satellite provides you its distance to the main cache. The satellites do not provide bearings. Below are the coordinates for each of the satellites in Lat/Lon hdddºmm.mmm' (WGS 84)

New Satellites
(June 9, 2002) I have replaced all three satellites with new and improved micro-caches. The location of No. One has not changed but I have relocated Nos. Two and Three to places less likely to be pilfered. I will leave the previous satellites in their respective locations until they go missing. Thus, you will have five satellites from which to choose your plan of attack.

N38° 59.056' W77° 20.378'
N38° 56.251' W77° 15.744'

Old Satellites
(March 11, 2002) These are the original micro-cache satellites. They have served us well but are not made of ideal materials for long-term use. You may need a pocket knife to pry the lids off. They will remain posted until they are lost or stolen.

Need Help? … In keeping with the difficulty level of this cache, the hints are encrypted using a unique code. If you must cheat (strongly recommended), you will have to manually decrypt the following text to derive the code for decrypting the hints. The hints are helpful instructions for finding the satellites in the event that you are unable to find them. They are not vague hints. Therefore, decrypt these hints only if you want to know the exact locations where the satellites are hidden.

Notes:

The coordinates provided at the top of this page are the location of satellite number one.

While you may be able to locate the cache using only two satellites, I have provided three in case one goes missing. If you are unable to locate any of these, please email me and I will verify the status of the satellites and replace them if necessary.

When you log this cache, please state which satellites you were able (or unable) to find. This will help me provide adequate cache maintenance.
