Geocache Description:

27 November 2012, 00:00 - 13:00

A monthly Central Ohio Geocachers event in the Campus area. We will meet at Panera, 300 West Lane Avenue, Columbus, OH 43201.

This event will be a mixture of the normal meet-and-greet and a new twist of puzzling and gaming fun.

Come to talk with other local cachers to share ideas, experiences, and upcoming adventures. If you need help, bring your GPS and/or questions. We have a knowledgeable group.

In addition to the usual camaraderie, we will hold a conundrum contest. Each month a different type of (non-geocaching) puzzle or game will be featured. This month we'll tackle a Comprehensive Exam! What does that mean? Who knows! Prizes will be awarded to three puzzlers. This part of the event is absolutely not compulsory. You do not need to partake in the contest in order to log the event as a find.

The event starts at 6:30pm. We will commence the puzzle portion at 7:30pm. Make sure you're there by 7:30 if you want to participate!

In the future, we may use this event to give "lectures" on puzzle solving to help the community. Other puzzle-related activities may pop up from time to time.

This event will usually occur on the last Tuesday of the month, though that may change from time to time.

A few rules for the contest:

1. Only geocachers can enter the contest. No ringers can participate. Don't recruit your professional crossword-puzzling uncle to win for you.

2. No electronic help or reference help. Phones and computers are welcome at the event, but when we move to the contest portion of the evening, you cannot use any electronic means to help you, nor any sort of reference material. Crossword puzzle dictionaries or calculators, for example.

3. One entry per caching name.

The Medalists

1. Team Monkeyboy

2. debbiedoesgeo

3. 4boysexplore

NOTE for those interested in the yearlong Conundrum race and oncoming Finals in December:

The event page for the Playoffs is here.

Updating standings can be found here.

As mentioned at last month's event, the Finals in December will feature a playoff system. The Top 10 spots will gain automatic entry into the Playoffs. Players outside the Top 10 will have a last-chance shot at making the Playoff system on the day of the Finals.

The points for this month's event will be multiplied by 2.0, meaning more points are available this month to jockey for position. It also means even if you have not attended regularly throughout the year, you still have a real shot at securing a spot within the Top 10.
