Visit the old abandoned and all but gone town of Washington in the Pine Barrens. Easy find once you get to the spot very near the crossroads of Washington. Washington, somewhere down the road from Quaker Bridge and the ghostly town of Mount. Northwest of Batsto and south of Hawkins bridge lies this old forgotten town and stop for the old tuckerton stage coach line. Litterally nothing remains except a few foundation walls and various cellar holes from old, long since gone buildings of the old pine days. Many stories abound about such isolate areas. If you take the wrong road, you may be never be found again, and added to the ghostly tales of the Pines.
You can get there by taking Washington road which starts up by the fire tower behind Batsto. It is a tuff "bumpy and jiggley" road for a car, but I saw some kids driving some fancy sports cars along the road, so it can be done. Just don't go on any of the other roads unless you have a 4-wheeler or know what you are doing. Easier access for a 4-wheeler may be Iron Pipe rd from Maxwell (not for cars).
Easy find once you get to the spot very near the crossroads of Washington. Bring "Small" things for this little 4in round cache. Now the question is: Is this the ruins of the Washington Stables or of the Washington Tavern? Do you know.
PS: Be discreet. May not be any living humans around, but there will be many ghosts of the pines watching you.
